Downtown Ithaca is the economic, social and cultural heart of this small city. The Downtown Ithaca pedestrian mall is host to over 100 retail shops and eateries, theaters, historical architecture, galleries, outdoor public sculptures, and special events year-round.

The Downtown Visitor Center is located in the Tompkins Center for History and Culture on the Ithaca Commons.
